This is similar to the 'Going Once...Twice...SOLD' approach of auctions. Until the reserve is met you'll notice that the countdown loops between two minutes to one minute. Once the reserve is met the counter counts down to zero and the auction ends. If no one else bids and the timer reaches zero, you've won a sweet deal on BidsWOW!   If your name is in the #2 spot, you'll get 75% OFF the Retail Value of that item. If your name is in the #3 spot, you'll receive 50% OFF the Auction Value.  There is more...   If you don't win the auction, you never have to go away empty handed. Any time after you've placed your first bid in an auction, you can choose to buy the product for a discount using the Buy It Now feature. This will help limit your losses so you don't have to leave all your bids on the table. You'll never have to pay more than the Value Price for any products on BidsWOW.

How We Got Our Start

BidsWOW is brand new.  We started in 2010 with an honest and clear approach of having a less than 8% Reserve Price on each auction item to make sure that everyone benefits.   The company is based out of Houston, Texas. Although we just recently enabled this feature, it is highly recommended that you are conservative with your biddings.
Each time you Bid, you are spending 55 cents on that auction item.

Because multiple bids are allowed, it may now happen that the same customer ends up in all 3 winning spots.
If the same customer is in more than one of the winning spots, that customer only qualifies for the highest winning value for that particular auction item.
BidsWOW prefers multiple winning customers per Auction Item.  If the same Customer ID is in more than one winning spot,  only the top winning spot may be collected by that customer.  No Duplicate Winners Allowed Per Auction Item.

Have Realistic Expectations

"I want to get this item!"

Go into each auction by willing to pay full purchase price for the item you would purchase anyway.
This way you won't be disappointed.

If you won, you just came out saving a ton of cash. Don't forget at BidsWOW you have three chances to win at each auction.

Please have realistic expectations.  It is important to understand that the most expensive items also have the most competition.  Items that are over $1,000 in cost will often generate a lot of interest and bidding. 

Some items can take a long time to sell, but once you win it, at the end it's well worth it. So tell all of your friends to bid also, this way the reserve can be met quickly so you can own your item faster.

It is not uncommon for these items to have over 100 people bid on them during the life of the auction.  These auctions are high risk/high reward and they should be treated that way.  Winning these auctions with a small number of bids is possible and happens every day.  Recently, user SHILE06 won a Nikon D90 12.3MP DSLR Camera + Lenses with only 4 bids placed!  This is not the norm however.  Most users that win more expensive items have placed a significant number of bids before winning.  Feel free to try your hand at winning with only a few bids placed, but do so with the knowledge that the odds are small of successfully winning.

The Clock on My Auction Item Loops Between 30 Seconds Down to 20 Seconds. Why? 
Reserve is not yet met. We have a reserve set, so our auctions are always honest and there is enough profit to be made to pay out the three auction prices. 1. The Winner's Winning Item 2. 75% OFF Retail for the 2nd Price Winner and 3. 50% OFF Retail for the 3rd Price Winner. We make sure that the Reserve is met so all three winner's prices are covered.

Reserve Price on All Auction Items are around 8% of The Auction Retail Value.
By having a reserve that is always under 8% of the Auction Retail Value will insure profitability.
This does not mean that the reserve is 8% it simply means the reserve is anywhere under 8% at all times.
 
Homework Does Pay Off

Second, focus on an item that you would like to win and watch auctions containing this item.  There are many different factors that affect what price an item will ultimately sell for.  Many of these things can be learned over time by watching and observing.  For example, certain items will generate more competition and bidding at night than in the afternoon.  Savvy users are often rewarded for doing research before bidding on a large auction. BidsWOW allow multiple bids per user. This is to allow any user to reach the Reserve Price faster and or to qualify for the 2ND & 3RD PRICE option to own an item. This feature is brand new concept and not offered on any other auction sites as far as we know. We came up with this concept so two people can win instead of one at each auction.

 
Focus on the Goal

A couple more tips before you get started.  Focus your bidding on one auction at a time.  Users who focus their attention on one item have a higher success rate and are generally more satisfied with their experience using BidsWOW.  Also, go into an auction with a sufficient number of bids so that you will not have to leave the page to buy more bids while the auction is going on.  Finally, set a budget of how many bids you are willing to spend and stick to it.


What if I don’t Win?

We are committed at BidsWOW to provide our guests entertaining shopping and great deals.  One way that we stand by this commitment is through offering the option to “Buy it Now”.  The “Buy it Now” feature allows you to use any bids that were placed during an auction towards the retail market value of that product.  It is our way of showing how much we appreciate your business.

1.    Track Your Favorite Items.  If you are on a product’s live auction page, either watching or participating, take note of when that same item is coming up for auction next.  Depending on the amount of bidders in your current auction, you may want to come back at a later time when there may be fewer participants, and a faster win. Since BidsWOW is new, you have far greater chances to win than on many other wonderful auction sites, such as quibids, ebay and others at this time. As BidsWOW becomes more and more popular that, of course, effects the odds.

2.    Use the BidsWOW Live Auctions  It shows how many items there are in that category as well as the products in that category currently available. 

3.    Auto Bid.  This feature is one of the best-kept time saving secrets on our site.  It’s the perfect tool to use when the latest episode of LOST drags you away from your computer, or if you have an item you want to bid on in a couple hours, and you know you won’t be present to bid.  While Auto Bid is explained more in-depth in a previous article, this tool is designed to help those with time constraints…or people who just can’t muster the energy to keep clicking the mouse.   Definitely, check out this tool to keep you winning auctions while on-the-go!

4.    Buying Bid Packs in Bulk.  We’re sure some of you have run into this dreaded problem. You are hot in the middle of auction bidding when you suddenly find yourself dangerously low on bids.  Major buzz-kill! Now you have to rush to the Bid Store to purchase another Bid Pack right as the bidding gets intense.  Why not save yourself the time, and the anguish, in the beginning by purchasing a larger Bid Pack?  Now, you will be in a great position to win your auction, and perhaps have a surplus of bids for your next auction! Keep in mind we refund any unused bids.

5. Timer goes down to 20 seconds, Restarts & Loops - Why?. We have a Reserve set on BidsWOW. The reserve price is usually extremely low. Always around 8% of the Retail Value or Auction Value. This is to make the site profitable but still offer extremely low prices to our loyal customers. Until the reserve is met the auction loops back from around 20 seconds to 30 seconds. Once the Reserve is met, the auction counts down to 0 and the last bidder wins the auction. At the same time there will be yet another person who will benefit, the HIGHEST BIDDER, since this person gets to purchase the item for 75% OFF the Retail Value. Everyone else can still purchase the item for the full purchase price minus whatever they've already spent on their current auction.
